Amit Panghal & Manish Kaushik to be in the Indian Squad

The criteria was of Asian Championship to be in for the World Boxing Championship. Winning a gold at Asian Championship got the express entry to Amit Panghal into the championship and fight for the country. This is the much awaited selection for any boxing sports person and Panghal is all excited about it.

Another entry was of Manish Kaushik who won the silver medal at commonwealth games held earlier. Manish will be in the 63kg category which is latest category introduced in the sport. Shiva Thapa, who is a four time medallist at Asian Games was not given the spot and instead Manish was selected who lost to Shiva in the India Open Final. Satishkumar will be in for the category of +91 kg. Ashish kumar was selected for the 75kg category and for the 69kg Duryodhan Singh Negi was selected who defeated Ashish Kulhari.

Brijesh Yadav was selected for 81kg category while for 91kg category Sanjeet has been selected.

A total of 8 member squad will be representing India at the game and the squad will be as follows :

The World Boxing Championship will be held in Ekaterinburg in Russia from 8th Sep 2019 and the World Boxing Championship 2019 Opening ceremony will be held at also 8th September 2019.
