World Boxing Championships 2019 already started on 8 September 2019. It will be held in Russia. In this championships four Indian Boxers name Amit Panghal, Manish Kaushik, Sanjeet and Kavinder Singh Bisht all are qualified for World Boxing Championships 2019.

Asian games gold medalist and second seed Panghal was joined by Asian silver winner and fifth seed Kavinder Singh Bisht and the Commonwealth games silver winner Manish Kaushik and Sanjeet.

Amit Panghal said,” It was a good bout as I fought against an experienced boxer. I will be ready with my strategy for Paalam tomorrow. I dedicate this win to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is celebrating his 69th birthday today,”

Manish Kaushik said, “I stuck to the strategy that was given to me by my coaches and I am happy that it got me the result I wanted,”

Sanjeet said, “I had beaten this guy in the India Open. He had power but I managed to outwit him on counter-attack. He got hit quite a lot on my counter-attacks,”.

In the first round, Negi had to work hard to achieve a 4-1 victory over Armenia’s Koryun Astoyan in his maiden appearance at this prestigious event.

The 33-year-old is the third Indian boxer to crash out of the championships following losses suffered by Brijesh Yadav (81kg) and Ashish Kumar (75kg). While Brijesh went down to Malkan Bayram of Turkey 1-4, Ashish Kumar succumbed to China’s Tanglathian Tuohetaerbieke 2-3 in his opening bout.
